As the COVID-19 pandemic has affected all our lifestyle, it has also affected the education system worldwide. Most schools are closed to stop the spread of this pandemic.
As an attempt to continue the studies in this situation, almost all schools are heading towards online classes. But many parents are struggling to make it work as kids are not used to such type of learnings. So here we are with some tips for successful online classes for your kids.
1. Prepare Your Kids Mentally
The most important thing is to mentally prepare your kid to adopt the new study methodology. As our kids are used to offline classes, they may find it difficult to get engaged in the process. So first of all we have to get our kids to be friendly with this approach. We need to tell our kids that this methodology is much more fun and they can still interact with their friends via this method.
2.Montior The Class
As our kids will be at home itself during the class, we need to take care that our kid is giving proper attention. We suggest that anyone family member should be there in the room while your kid is attending the class without interfering with the ongoing class. It is a plus point of an online class that you get to know your kid’s learning approach. It may help you to find out how your kid behaves during class.
3. Organize The Learning Materials
As during offline classes our kids used to make their bags and stationery for school, we need to take care that kids are doing the same for the online classes also. Kids may ignore these things as they may feel that they are at home and it is not needed. But we need to teach our kids to maintain the same habit for the online class also so that their class is not disturbed.
4.Limit The Presence Of Family Interference
Our kids should not be engaged in house talks and must have proper isolation from others including maids, working at home during that time.
5.Adequate Electronic Devices
We need to monitor that the electronic device which is going to be used by our kid is working properly as well as is fully charged. Also, we need to teach our kids how to use that electronic device properly so that they can handle it themselves.
6.Wearing Proper Attire
We need to check that our kid is in a proper school uniform. It will give our kids a feeling of equality with other kids. Fancy clothes must not be entertained.
7. Adopt A Fun Teaching
Teachers need to pay attention that their teaching materials should not be boring as virtual class provides an opportunity to share interesting videos with kids.
8.Communicate With Teachers.
Online classes are beneficial to parents also as it provides easy access to the teachers of your kids. Being a parent you may ask for a little bit of time with the teachers to discuss your kid after the class.
9. Maintain Punctuality
We need to take care that our kids are always on time for the class. As they have to attend the class from home, they may feel lazy sometimes or maybe engage in other things. So we need to take care that our kids are on time for every class.
10. Include More Extra-Curricular Activities
While classes were offline, there were proper dance, art, or extra circular activities happening in schools. We should take care that our kid is attending these classes and also if it is not in the class timetable, we being parents should ask the school authority to add these extra circular activities also.
11.Keeping A Track Of Study
Most of the schools are sharing PowerPoint presentations or worksheets on the internet platform for students. Being parents we need to keep a check that the online study materials are properly being saved on the device and if your school is not providing it, ask for the one.
Engaging our kids in online classes and making them enjoy it, is a little tricky work for parents but we hope by adapting these suggestions we can make the experience of online classes more beneficial and educational for our kids.
