Diwali is around the corner and every kid is excited about endless reasons. Our festivals are incomplete without customs and rituals of giving gifts to our children on occasion especially Diwali.
As a parent, I know the closets of our kids is full of numerous dresses, and each corner & every box in the house are filled with toys. So stuffing children all-time with materialistic gifts is not a great idea. Kids who are given more than they need are at risk of turning into materialist adults who find more happiness with things rather than primary values.
So, if you are a parent and feel that your kid has already numerous toys to play with then gift them something else on this auspicious occasion.
But what?
How about giving them the gift of learning or spending time with them in a better way?
All children are different hence their area of interest also differs. So gift them what makes them happy, excited, and thankful. I have come up with quick ideas that can be useful for all parents out there. Here it goes:
1. Gift A Fun-Filled Workshop
Children love attending quick sessions as it keeps them occupied with fun-packed learning. Children as I earlier said have different tastes so enroll them in the workshops that they enjoy. It enhances their overall ability and helps them to find their interests.
2. Enroll In Incredible Skill Courses
Learning is the skill for life & whatever an individual learns in the initial stage of childhood remains with them forever. How about gifting your kid a course of dancing, singing or chess, magic learning, etc? It’s surely A gift for a lifetime!
3. Design A Craft With Them
Time is the best gift that you can give your kid. You can spend time with them by making some Diwali crafts – Like Handmade Diya, or hangings of candles, not only it is exciting but will make them skilled. By the way, at the piggy ride, we are also celebrating Diwali with children by helping them to create their own Diya. Don’t Miss it check it out.
4. Let Them Try Their Hands-On Cooking
If your kid is a food lover and shows a keen interest in cooking, so it’s time to take it ahead by gifting them a course of baking or dessert making. Also, let them try their hands at making favorite sweet this Diwali. No festival is complete without a feast of delicious foods and in particular, sweets. It surely makes them happy, my daughter loves eating sewiyan, and if I only ask her to pour the ingredients in the utensil, it’s a joy for her. Sometimes the little things make them thankful and you can see the spark in their little eyes.
5. Share Amazing Diwali Stories
Keep the bedtime stories based on the Diwali Theme, not only it will help the importance of the occasion but also will enhance their knowledge to keep connected to the roots of rituals and occasions. You can also buy some storybooks for Diwali.
This Diwali let’s be safe by staying back at our homes and spending time with our little ones in a better way. How are you spending Diwali with your little ones? Do share with us – We are Listening!
